Please let me explain…

My name is Jayne Parr and for as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by Japanese Gardens and dreamed of creating one right in my own back yard! I have long dreamt of creating that tranquil haven surrounding my home. I often imagined walking through my very own Zen garden, feeling the peace and serentiy I longed for. My busy life seemed so rushed and hurried I was losing the ability to find that special time and space to just be.

Then one day I decided enough was enough, I wanted to make my dream come true. Much to my dismay, this was not going to be as easy as I had first thought.

I started with a few pot plants, some pebbles and very little knowledge. So my garden looked just like that, it had a few plants, some pebbles scattered around and didn't really look anything like a Japanese Garden.

For some reason it was not coming together like I saw my garden in my dream.

I struggled trying to find out what the right types of plants that I should be using were, which trees and which shrubs and which flowers should I use, and then which combinations should I group.

I had no idea where to even begin when it came the layout and the design. Bringing all of this information together to create my dream Zen garden seemed like an impossible task. So the chance of my Japanese Garden looking like the tranquil amazing Zen garden I had always dreamt of was not becoming a reality, much to my disappointment and efforts.

I have searched for a long time for an easy step by step guide to creating a Japanese Garden in my own home. There were bits of information everywhere, nothing that I could find that was easy to follow, comprehensive with all I needed from the first planning stages to finally choosing your material, and planting guides.

Synchronica offers disaster recovery for mobile users

New product allows mobile users to back up important phone data over the air.
Mobile phone users will soon be able to back up their contact data, emails and files stored on their mobile phones over the air.

Mobile synchronisation and device management company Synchronica has launched its new Backup and Restore application aimed at phone users needing a back up of phone data in the event of their device being lost or stolen.

Carsten Brinkschulte, chief executive of the Tunbridge Wells-based company said that the application would allow mobile operators and application service providers to generate extra revenue streams and pointed to a survey from Zelos Research group that found that 20 per cent of mobile phone subscribers were looking for a service that would allow them to back up important data from the handsets.

"An over-the-air backup and restore service may be the first mobile data application beyond SMS to be successful in the mass market," said Brinkschlte. "As well as providing an additional revenue stream for operators and service providers, the service can also reduce churn and maintain ARPU."

The service would not only allow users to have a back up but would also make the process of upgrading a phone easier. Customers can use the backup and restore facility to transfer their personal information over the air to their new phone.

Synchronica said that one of its first mobile operator customers for the product was Norwegian mobile operator NetCom.

"We wanted to be able to offer our customers an OTA backup and restore facility for their personal data which would mean that a change of phone - either due to loss or upgrading - would not mean losing all important information," said Arne Igesund, Manager of Data Services at NetCom. "With the Synchronica solution, we can provide our customers with seamless data migration from one device to another, quickly and easily."

He said that another advantage of the product was that it is based on the SyncML open standard, meaning it works on a wide range of devices.

MOBILE PHONE

Indication of a massive growth in the country's cellular phone industry came with a 27.57 percent growth in the first eleven months between July 2006 to May 2007 in the current financial year (2006-2007). The news on AHN featured statistics of Pakistan's imports in mobile phones in July-May period in the current financial year worth $0.80 million in contrast to $0.62 million in the corresponding period last year.

Daily Times quoted Shahid Khan, National Marketing Manager at Samsung Electronics anticipating a 21 percent increase in mobile phone exports in the next fiscal year. The surge in the mobile industry was the result of fierce competition in the market even as the leading brands faced stiff competition from Chinese imitation mobile phones duplicating expensive premium mobile phone brands.

Nokia leads the market brands with a 50 percent plus market share, while Sony Ericsson has over 20 percent users ahead of Motorola, Samsung, LG and others. Imports of related telecom equipment also rose owing to expansion of telecom network and services. Among operators, Pakistan's Telecommunication Authority (PTA) put Mobilink's clients at nearly 25 million with Ufone following with 12 million, Warid with 9.7 million and Telenor with 9.6 million.

Among the country's fastest growing sectors, telecom witnessed a teledensity increase from 4.5 percent two years ago to nearly 40 percent of the population. Pakistan has been gripped by the craze for mobile phones as figures of national subscribers shot up due to affordability of connection costs, pre-paid packages and phone sets.

The escalating growth in the sector in Pakistan and its optimism is reflected in the media ads of various companies. The fight for market share has spilled over to the airwaves and newsprint. One can't help but notice the advertising campaigns of mobile phones and services in the country as they dominate the media, billboards and every other medium possible.

A research analyst at RNCOS considers Pakistan to be one of the countries having tremendous untapped potential for telecom growth and a lucrative investment environment. As subscriber base escalates each day and mobile penetration, every month, the mobile cellular sector in Pakistan is set to exceed all estimates.

Kentaky Fried Chicken (KFC)

Ingredients
Fabulous fried chicken recipe, better than the Kentucky colonels!

1kg (or approx 2 pounds) chicken, cut into pieces
1 cup plain/ all purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon powdered chicken stock
1 teaspoon pepper
vegetable oil

Cooking Method

Rinse chicken pieces in cold water and pat them dry with some absorbent paper towel...In a paper or plastic bag, combine the flour, salt, pepper and powdered chicken stock...One piece at a time, put the chicken into the bag and shake it around to make sure that the chicken is completely coated in the flour & flavouring.Repeat the process for each of the chicken pieces...Heat the vegetable oil in your deep fryer...When the oil has reached the desired temperature (according to your fryers instructions), fry the chicken in batches until the chicken is golden brown...Drain each piece of chicken on some absorbent paper towel...Serve with a dipping sauce, ketchup or some wedges of lemon...Happy Chicken!...

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.
Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, “Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.
One day when we look back, we will realize that we dont really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.
Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.
So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what you learned from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us; they have friends to protect them." The boys father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are." Isnt perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we dont have. Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your family and friends!

CHOICE IS YOURS...

[-)]You do have the freedom to choose the kind of world you call your own. Why spend your life in a steamy jungle of roaring thoughts, or in a dark valley filled with sad and worried emotions when, by choosing higher, you can live happier? Your days can be as cool and relaxed as a clear mountain stream, if you decide thats the life you want.
But, decide you must. What very few men and women ever come to realize, spiritually speaking, is that life is a ceaseless series of inner choices about where they want to live. And even though we may not fully understand the nature of these choices, or why they must be made, to not choose is to lose. Heres why.
The complete range of life-level possibilities, from the conflict-filled jungle floor to the serene mountaintop, all exist right within your own uninvestigated nature. And to not choose the upward path through this life is to resign yourself to the laws of gravity -- which always choose in favor of their own nature: down.
A mental picture will help bring some of these important invisible concepts into clearer view.
Imagine a huge mansion with unlimited floors. Now further envision that each floor in this mansion represents one life level out of all of the countless possibilities. If its helpful, think of this mansion as representing your True Nature.
But, to bring our illustration down to earth, think of the largest department store youve ever shopped. Like the mansion in our mental picture, each floor of the department store displays and offers items peculiar only to it. You wont find guns and ammo sold on the same floor as books of learning; nor do you find automotive supplies where delicate lace is displayed. And so, in much the same way, the level of each of the floors in our inner mansion determine the life choices available on it.
For instance, as long as you live in the basement of this mansion, you cant choose to enjoy the unrestricted cool air and natural sunlight of the first floor resting just above it. Similarly, on the second floor you cant choose to see the beauty and panorama of the view that only the fifth floor and higher can offer. And so on it goes, all the way to higher and higher floors.
Your life experiences are determined by which of these "floors" you dwell upon. This means that each floor represents a possible life level. But, while each of these inner levels and the natural events attracted to them may be fixed, you are not. Unlike the tiger that cant leave the land of the tiger, you can leave any troubling part of your own present nature far behind you. Read on to discover one more amazing feature of your True Nature.
Picture a set of stairs that winds its way up and through this immense inner mansion. These steps start in the darkened basement and lead up until they go out of sight. Each step of the staircase is also a part of your True Nature, but none of them belongs to any one floor-level through which they pass.
This means you dont have to remain on any level not of your choosing. You have the power to climb. You can change your life experiences by walking away from any of those unwanted worlds within you that create your unpleasant days. In this way, self-departure is the same as self-elevation. Your life is meant to be an upward journey.

Meditation is a process in which the human mind concentrates on a spot materialistically, which encompass the wanes of light at a central point, to produce its affect. For example, scientifically, prism is used to refract light rays (which are of 7.colours) resulting in producing extremely powerful rays, which burns objects. Meditation is a limited skill which, helps to understand the material sphere.
Muraqba is a spiritual act, in which centrality of the act for mental concentration is the creator (Allah/God), who is the most knowledgeable. We concentrate our thoughts to make contact with Allah, so that we can be aware of all the knowledge present in the Universe. Belief is vital to all spiritual and Universal knowledge since every intention and every act is illuminated by the lights of belief.
Prophet (PBUH) spent the early part of his life mostly at Mount HIRA, where he used to do Muraqba and Prophet’s training by God through Gabriel took place there. It takes nearly four hours to reach the top of Mount HIRA. Quran is the book which, contains laws of nature and prophet hood was declared at the age of 40.

Can we do Muraqba?

Yes, we can. We have to look at the life of Prophets, who used to do this process, for building up links with God and to know, God, we need to concentrate on our thoughts. Thoughts reach us via light and we speak of them s thoughts, ideas, imaginations etc. what should be noted here is that the patterns of thinking in all creatures have one point in common and it is this common point or location which informs us of the presence of other creatures.
For Muslims, this common point is God. Prophets (PBUH) are our teachers and leaders. We have to have to follow their teachings and practices. Hence, practice of Muraqba is simply an act of following our Prophet’s (PBHU) teaching. We do follow, teachers at schools/colleges to achieve success in obtaining worldly knowledge, concepts and skills. Similarly, we are obliged to follow our Prophet (PBUH) and practice it as our Prophet (PBUH) has done for many years at Mount HIRA cave. Even in Holy Quran, the importance of Muraqba have been mentioned as: "And remember the name of your Lord. Cut your attachments and devote yourselves entirely to him" (chapter LXXIII, Section 13-a1-Muzammil). Quran’s every word and sentence are laws of nature for every human being (muslims and non- muslims). These laws are operating for the whole Universe. There are many planets made up of different materials but fundamentals of law as described in quran are applicable to all these. Although its application may depend on the nature and environment of the Universe, which are made of different materials.This message has been quoted in Holy Quran, many times. "There is no change in following god’s commandments

Why should we do Muraqba?

It is certain that Angles were created before Adam (PBUH). But Adam(PBUH) was given the Khalifat by God on the Universe. We, as humans have inherited this Khalifat and Leadership from Adam (PBUH). God gave Isim-I-Alliah’s knowledge to Adam (PBUH). As God is Noorani Light was transmitted into Adam(PBUH), then it turned into soul(Rooh). Noorani Light functions as a source of energy in Adam (Adam (PBUH) and this energy is utilized to excel our skills and abilities in physical contributions of Life. All the Isimi-I-Allah’s know’s knowledge has been inherited in our Rooh (soul). In this world our conscious is developing he skills, abilities, knowledge through our Soul, to explore and discover the creativity aspects of the whole Universe. Our Rooh (soul) is the source of all the energy and knowledge, to develop our skills in this world. As our soul, with the command of God, displays Isim_I_Allha (Allah’s Virutes), then our conscious body id created.
Once a conscious body is created, this helps us to recognize ourselves as individuals.Allah has authorized humans as superiors over all the creations. This proves that humans are rulers for all the Universe. True rulers can be effective only if those who can understand all their subject.
Allah mentioned before, Adam is the master of all creations of the whole Universe and hence he knows all creations of the whole Universe and hence he knows all the knowledge regarding the whole Universe. For this world, as we are recognized with our conscious body, hence we have to transfer our sub conscious knowledge into conscious knowledge so that we can use it with our intent. As a Doctor/physician qualified in medicine, the patient will benefit only when the Doctor practice their learnt knowledge of medicine. Similarly, the souls abilities have to be practiced to benefit our conscious body, which displays the benefit to all the creations. Allah is the most merciful who has created the whole Universe and he nourishes/cares/looks after its creation. The soul participates in these conscious activities for the benefit of all creation, which is the aim and objective of Man’s khalifat and Niabat. How can we transfer these into conscious? One of the ways of transferring this knowledge is through Muraqba, which is our Prophet (PBUH) Sunnah, which was practiced by Prophet (PBUH) on Mount HIRA cave. Muraqba strengthens to to build upon the links of conscious and sub-conscious (mind). Sub-conscious is the mind of our soul. All the Allah’s virtues and their knowledge is stored in the super-conscious which is in fact a Record of the Universe’s knowledge.
